This is a calendar of Indian marathons and half marathons for late 2026 and early 2027, limited to races whose own site or a reputable source we opened. Dates change, so use the links to confirm before you plan, and we have not listed any prices.

Notes on each race
- Ahmedabad: the race page gives the start as the Ahmedabad Marathon Holding Area in Paldi, with start times that vary by distance. It lists minimum ages of 18 for the marathon and half, 12 for the 10 km and 10 for the 5 km.
- Pune: the official site shows the 40th edition on 6 December 2026 at Baburao Sanas Ground. Open its race info page for distances.
- Kolkata: the official page gives 20 December 2026 and the 25K and Open 10K distances. It did not name a venue on the page we read.
- Mumbai: the official pages say the race starts and finishes at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) for the elite marathon, and give minimum ages (for example 18 for the elite marathon and 15 for the Open 10K). Some categories had fixed registration windows that are already shown on the site, so check them.
- Auroville: the official page gives race day as 14 February 2027, bib collection on 13 February, and registration opening on 14 November 2026.
- Chennai: a guide we opened gives 3 January 2027 in one place but also says no official date had been announced (as of June 2026). So we treat it as date to be announced. The same guide lists marathon, 20-miler, half marathon and 10K.
- Delhi: the elite-category page on the official site lists Sunday, 18 October 2026 at JLN Stadium. We found no 2027 date on the official pages we read.
Races we left out
We did not list races whose dates we could only find on aggregator sites, such as Jaipur and Hyderabad. The Wipro Bengaluru Marathon is a 2026 event and, per its own page, registration for that edition is closed, with the date not stated on the page we opened. We would rather leave a race out than guess.
How to choose a race
- Time to prepare: count weeks backwards from race day. A first half marathon usually needs a few months of base running; see the 12-week half marathon plan or the 16-week marathon plan.
- Weather: the winter races avoid the worst of the summer heat. Still read running in Indian heat and monsoon for training tips and running and air quality for pollution.
- Distance options: several races above include a 10K, a good first target, with a couch to 10K plan to get there.
- Company: many runners enter with a club. See run clubs and how to join one.
- Shoes: test them on long runs first, and read running shoes for Indian roads.
Reading the dates
Two kinds of date appear above. "Date as stated" means the race's own page gives it. "Date to be announced" means we could not find a confirmed date on an official page, and we say why in the notes. A date shown by a third-party listing, or by a countdown timer on a site, is still worth checking with the organiser. Race weekends often include a separate expo or bib-collection day, as the Auroville page shows, so build one extra day into travel plans.
Also check the age limits and the start time for your distance. Ahmedabad's page lists a 4:00 AM start for the marathon and 5:15 AM for the half, which affects how you get to the start line and where you stay the night before.
Always confirm on the official site
Race dates, routes, categories, age limits and registration windows can change, and organisers sometimes announce changes late. This list was checked on 24 October 2026, so open the official page before you book travel or a hotel. Treqz does not organise races or sell entries; Treqz Run is coming soon and is not yet available.
